Dane County has started a grazing project in the fishing area, by Hwy U and Oak Grove, to help control invasive plants, especially reed canary grass. The work is being done by a small herd of 10 sheep and one donkey.
They’re contained within a portable electric fence and supervised by a hired shepherd. This is a safe and environmentally friendly method of vegetation management—no need for concern.
Thank you for your understanding as this project helps restore and maintain the area.
